echo cliffs --- boulders and cliffs!

ECHO CLIFFS ON PANTHER MOUNTAIN

Drive west from the intersection of Routes 8 & 10 and turn right onto West Shore Road, it comes up in slightly less than 3 miles. You'll see the trailhead a few miles down the road on the left, and it will say "Trail To Panther Mt." (see Picture). It is about a half mile before Little Sand Point Campground.
The trail is well marked and easy to follow, although it may be a bit wet towards the bottom. You'll take a turn up the steep part of the mountain at a large boulder and head straight up to the cliffs. Make sure you follow the markers as there are many false paths.
Along the way you'll notice huge rock walls amidst the hemlock tree. When you reach the top you'll get a spectacular view of Piseco Lake.
Driving directions to RT-10 & RT-8, NY

Any feed back about the possibility of bouldering here. It is on my list of areas to check out.
