Cobble Mt. - Lake Placid
I hike Cobble Mt once a week or so and always eyeball the boulders just below the summit slab. Instead of making the usual trek over to Mackenzie Pond, I decided to scrub away at a few spots over on Cobble. They still need a lot more cleaning. I've only had one session on them, and they are all very well featured.
From the bench just below the summit, there is a drainage ditch that heads south towards rt. 86 where there are some pretty legit sized boulders.
Around the base of the mountain facing route 86 is a dauntingly big overhung wall that has two bolted sport routes on it (connection - 5.12c, and reciprocity 5.12d). The height of the wall decreases in either direction and there is definitely potential for some high-ball problems and short sport routes (3-4 bolts). (first two photos)

Can post directions to sport routes?
The sport routes are on a wall that is south facing, and relatively close to the base of Cobble Mt that face rt 86. If you follow the main drainage gully that heads south just below the main summit slab lookout of Cobble Mt, and stay left as it goes down, you will eventually come around a corner at the base and see it. See p.316 in Adirondack Rock. It isn't a destination crag, but it's pretty cool looking and has the potential for new routes at either end of the wall.
The bouldering here is pretty cool yet limited...found a pretty sweet boulder around where the trail breaks into 2 right below the summit slab. Potential for some easier problems, plus it's damn well featured.
