Ensign Pond Area

There where only a handful of lines but what i saw i did like. I will be back here for sure. I did not find any of the other boulders that i have seen posted online.

This is a pretty sweet Roof feature that will have a good line or two. Pretty clean and the rock is of decent quality.

This may look like a pile but it is slighlty overhanging and will have 2 good lines for sure.

This is a super nice piece of rock. Steep tall and with a line of crimps trending to the right. The holds look pretty solid and if the stay this should be a super fun steep crimp line.

Here is another angle of the boulder above. From bottom to lip you should have atleast 12 feet of climbing on nice small crimps.

I looked around for only a few hours including the drive up and down the road. There where alot of hunters around and i did not want to push my luck with my dog running about. I stopped and looked at 3 different places that i saw rock but only one had anything of worth.
What I found is by no means going to be a destination but..... There is potential for it to be.
This is a 10 on the potential scale -- (there will be bouldering here) and as far as the quality of the area only time will tell but right now i'm thinking 5ish.

When I did my recon, all I saw was the talus field that is 0.5 miles west of Ensign Pond, and right next to the road. Where your pictures taken of boulders that are next to the Pond?

My pics are of the talus field on the right side of the road. The exact long and lat are on the map. I am sure it is what you saw. I did not look around (?) the pond. Shortly after turning on to ensign pond rd on the left and up a hill a bit are a few more boulders.
They are just before a nice small (40 foot) vertical cliff.

Maybe this blog is dead but...I'd like to see some pics of routes or a map of them. I have a place that is ten miles from here so I will probs check it out.

I hope to clean stuff.
